Bose Soundbar 500 Review
When utilized without the separate sub and rear satellites, the Bose Soundbar 500 is a decent soundbar. Although it may not become as loud as other soundbars, its sound profile is well-balanced and neutral. Some people, however, may believe that this bar is lacking in the sub-bass.
Bose is notorious for packing a lot of sound into compact spaces, and the Bose Soundbar 500 is no exception(more info about Bose Soundbar 700). It has deep lows, detailed highs, and remarkable balance, as well as built-in Amazon Alexa voice control. In addition, it’s simple to switch from Bluetooth to Alexa-based streaming or listen to audio from your TV.
The Bose Soundbar 500 may be a good buy for someone who wants the perfect TV sound without spending too much money. Tackling your living room with an all-inclusive package can feel overwhelming, but this product might work well if you don’t need anything more than clear dialogue and booming basslines from movies or games alike.
One of the slimmest soundbars I’ve tried is the Soundbar 500. The slimness of the 31.5 x 4 x 1.8-inch Soundbar 500 was the first thing that struck me. However, the Soundbar 500’s diminutive size belies the sound quality it provides.
The matte black finish is low-key in appearance, making the design streamlined but also inconspicuous. The front-facing metal grille, which loops around the back, complements the car’s basic design.
On the left-hand side of the bar, there’s a ‘display,’ or ‘light bar,’ as Bose calls it. When activated, it blinks and shines brightly, visible from a seat, then fades to a deep amber/orange glow in standby.
There are only two buttons on the soundbar: one to mute the microphone and another to activate the voice assistant. It comes with a remote that allows you to manage the volume and switch between inputs. More selections are available with the free Bose Music app.
At the rear has Bose’s ADAPTiQ connector, as well as a sub-out, an IR receiver, LAN, optical, micro-USB (service only), and HDMI ARC. The Soundbar Wall Bracket from Bose is required for wall mounting.
here’s a little, dinky remote included, and there’s not much else to say about it other than that it works perfectly.
You must select between Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for a voice assistant; you cannot use both at the same time. However, you may change assistants using the Bose Music app.
Both of them responded to my inquiries. I could use voice commands to switch on the soundbar, alter the level, play music, and do other everyday activities like receiving the weather forecast. However, neither assistant can adjust the soundbar’s input, so keep the remote or mobile app available.
SetupThe Bose Music app is used to set up the Soundbar 500. It guides you through setting up your Wi-Fi network and allows you to add music providers like Spotify and Amazon Music.
The Adaptiq room calibration feature from Bose helps you achieve the most refined sound in your home. However, because you must wear a headset that measures sound from five different spots in the room, the procedure is a little unpleasant (it makes Sonos’ TruePlay approach, in which you walk about the room waving your phone up and down, appear less humiliating).
After you’ve created your sound profile, you can use the app to alter the bass and treble levels, as well as the centre channel loudness. Dialogue Mode is also available, which is meant to make voices easier to hear, but I thought that the overall sound was better without it. Unfortunately, there are no additional sound options available.
The Remote Control
The supplied remote control has a matte rubber shape and works on two AAA batteries. Power, music (through Wi-Fi), TV, Bluetooth, Volume Up/Down, Mute, Track Backward, Play/Pause, Track Forward, and six dedicated memory buttons for radio stations or streaming services are included.
The Bose Soundbar 500 delivers an excellent sound performance, with clear dialogues and plenty of spatial effects when watching movies. The bass part is tight, while the treble is detailed. If you are looking for a wireless TV speaker system that can also be used to listen to music tracks while doing other activities in your living room, the Bose Soundbar 500 is simply an excellent choice.
This slim speaker bar provides outstanding sound quality on both TV shows and music performances, making it one of the best-sounding wireless intelligent speakers available on today’s market.
The highs are clean, crisp and pure all across the spectrum, though there might be some distortion when listening at high volumes or during bass-heavy music tracks. However, if you don’t crank up the volume too much and stick to more calm music genres, you won’t hear any distortion at all.
The mid-tones are good but not great, while the bass is tight and punchy without overwhelming other frequencies. As a result, the Bose Soundbar 500 will work perfectly as a speaker for your TV shows and films, playing dialogues with enough clarity to understand every word.
You can even use it as a primary wireless audio system to play music tracks using its built-in Bluetooth connection or streaming your favourite songs from your smartphone. The low frequency has substantial energy and can enhance the bass of your music.
The Bose soundbar 500 is an excellent choice for anyone seeking the best in home audio, be it watching television shows and movies, gaming, or listening to music. Of course, playing music by itself isn’t a sight to behold. Still, if you have a dedicated home theatre area with a big-screen TV and some surround sound speakers already, then the Bose soundbar 500 is going to give you the best of both worlds while being extremely affordable at the same time.
The customizable universal remote lets you adjust bass levels according to where your speaker systems are set up. In addition, the option enables multiple speaker compatibility with no extra setup required on your part. You can also use voice prompts that work together with Alexa-enabled devices for effortless Bluetooth pairing.
The Bose soundbar 500 is so easy to set up. Even your parents could do it! It only takes a few minutes, and everything you need is included in the box. You can also use Bluetooth for wireless connections with all of your favorite devices.
I’d recommend this for anyone who likes watching TV or playing games at home on their big-screen television. The 3-2-1 option ensures you’ll have excellent audio no matter what device you’re using, whether it’s HDMI ARC output, optical input, or auxiliary connection cables (which are not included).
As far as aesthetics go, there’s no denying that the Bose soundbar 500 fits in perfectly with the modern home decor. The sleek matte black finish looks fantastic with even the fanciest of TVs. It is a recommended choice for any homeowner looking to upgrade their entertainment system without breaking the bank.
