JBL Partybox 310 Review

The JBL PartyBox 310 is a portable battery-powered speaker that has an RGB light show. It can be used for both musicians and nonmusicians who want to enjoy the boomy sound it produces with its Bass Boost feature, which adds even more thump punch.

In addition, the Partybox 310 allows you to use your voice or instruments and bass treble, echo controls for vocals/instruments, and EQ settings tailored specifically toward music performance needs like getting louder without distortion max volume levels.

Design

The JBL Partybox series is getting a new addition to the 310. JBL has made some tweaks to their light show and added more colours, but they are still sticking true to what people love about this lineup of speakers.

The ringed lights around these drivers change hues based on your preference, or you can follow along with them from your phone via Bluetooth connection (or tap out whichever colour buttons).
The JBL Partybox 310 portable Bluetooth speaker is a sleek and modern speaker emphasizing colour, making the body look more vibrant.

In addition, the black uniformity of the device makes it easy to place in different locations while still maintaining its beauty.

The Partybox 310 is designed to be more durable than the 300 and has an easier-to-use haul handle. The speaker weighs 38 pounds compared to 35 for its predecessor, but this extra weight helps with sound quality, so it’s worth lugging around!

The most notable updates to the JBL Partybox 310 speaker are that it now has built-in wheels and a retractable handle. These will make transporting the 38-pound speaker much easier to carry around than its predecessor.

An IPX4 rating isn’t strong waterproofing, but it will get the job done. You can keep anything more than splashes away from this device, and you are okay standing next to a pool with it on– throwing your phone would be considered damaging.

The speaker features a groove on the top side, perfect for setting your phone while you’re streaming music, which I like.

The Control Buttons

With all the buttons on its control panel, JBL’s Partybox 310 may look complicated. However, it is handy because you only need to press one button for each function.

Around the back of the JBL Partybox 310, many different dials with many functions could be confusing if they weren’t separated into various sections and labelled clearly. Although this speaker system seems like an unmanageable device at first glance, after using it, I realized how easy and effective it was once everything had been set up correctly.

The play button can be pressed twice to skip to the next track or three times for the previous. I did experience an issue where it registered my second press as a third, but thankfully that didn’t happen too often.

For anyone using a guitar or mic, there are volume knobs and gain adjustments so you can dial in the exact EQ you want. The Bluetooth pairing function is also included. The Karaoke setting allows one to toggle external input on/off at will with ease without any hassle.

The Input

The JBL PartyBox 310 portable speaker, with its dual-mic and guitar inputs, is a Bluetooth speaker series that’s just as viable for roving live performers. That makes it ideal for those who want some mobile karaoke or buskers.

The three input options ensure that no one needs to miss out on their party songs!

It also helps reaffirm its position as an impressive choice of speakers in general: big enough to be heard well outside but still clear enough not only at close range (think outdoor parties) but even inside too (for house parties).

You purchase the JBL PBM100 separately since it is not included in the JBL Partybox 310’s kit. However, it works pretty well and will make singing songs more enjoyable when using the vocal mixer on your PartyBox 310 speaker. Various effects can be applied with this tool!

If you aren’t satisfied with the power offered by a 240-watt speaker, then consider buying another and connecting them without wires or using an AUX cable. That will give you a complete stereo pair that can cover just about any room in your house!

With only .mp3, .wma, and .wav support on USB ports, there is quite a bit of limitation for those who wish to play music through this method.

The Battery

The JBL PartyBox 310 has a fantastic battery performance. It allows for over 17 hours of continuous playback time before needing to be charged and charges in just under three hours. In addition, it enters standby mode after 20 minutes without any operations so that you can avoid wasting power when the speaker is not being used at all times.

However, your real-life experience may vary depending on how much music you play with this device because of slight variations according to usage patterns.

The APP

The JBL Partybox 310 portable speaker can make any party more fun. It’s compatible with the JBL PartyBox app, which allows you to control your music in various ways: change uplighting colours, hook it up to another unit for stereo sound and even link multiple speakers together if needed.

If that wasn’t enough customization already, there are also DJ effects and voice controls so users can have an optimal audio experience when using the Karaoke feature! In addition, the JBL Partybox 310’s bass is adjustable and echo/treble settings (which enhance vocals), making this device perfect for small or large parties alike.

Sound Performance

JBL provides a rich bass in their speaker systems, and this model does not disappoint. It has two 176 mm woofers to offer the best audio quality possible; it also comes with an additional mode called Bass Boost that works well without being too overpowering.

Although many portable speakers are meant for taking on the go, the JBL PartyBox 310 surprised me by performing incredibly well at home. It’s a great outdoor speaker, but it works well in quiet settings too! So you get to take this one everywhere you go, which is pretty much music wherever you want and whenever.

JBL PartyBox 310 Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Party Lights

The JBL PartyBox 310 is a beast at providing immersive beats that blanket the room with bass, perfect for hip hop or electronica. Adjusting EQ settings on this speaker can land you exactly where you need to be sound-wise, and the app has enough flexibility to allow further customizations.

I’ve noticed how well JBL understands balance even in higher volumes, holding space for brighter mids and highs while also restraining the lows enough not to let them slip into muddiness during louder parts. That’s replicated here where you get significant control over all three features, plus their ability should allow listeners enjoyment without concern about sound becoming muddled too easily.

Even at max volume, you’ll be able to enjoy your music because JBL Partybox 310 Bluetooth speaker has mastered the low-end and balanced it with mids/highs. However, do note that when listening to bass-heavy songs or tracks with many percussion instruments on high volumes, they can become very muddy – so beware!

Conclusion

The JBL PartyBox 310 is a large speaker that’s perfect for musicians. It has bass, treble and echo controls on the microphone and RGB lights with Bluetooth connectivity. This speaker was made to add thump and punch whether you’re listening to hip-hop or other pop music.

It also features an option called Bass Boost which will provide even more of these sounds! So whether you need this at your next party or are looking for something convenient because it runs off one 12V battery, then look no further than the PartyBox 310 by JBL.

What Buyers Say About JBL Partybox 310?

This is a lot of speaker. I love the speaker but be prepared to get the cops called on you or complaints from your neighbors if you’re running it with bass boost on and at full volume. You may want to consider getting an amplified sound permit if you want to be able to use it to its full ability. It also has a really great sound at 50% so it can be useful in other settings as well.

I really like using the air horn button although not everyone is a fan LOL. I purchased this to use at our campground where we have our camper and I was actually asked to take it home and not bring it back because there was too many complaints. The type of music that you’re playing also makes a difference, if you’re playing some electronic music with a lot of bass andn the bass boost turned on the bass really carries and will rattle the windows of houses or campers that are not even that close by.

JBL partybox 310 was everything I was looking for in a portable speaker. I wanted something with good sound quality and decent bass. This speaker exceeded my expectations! The sound quality is excellent and there’s more bass than I expected. I use it a lot in my work van since the factory radio is awful, you can really feel the bass in the cab. I’ve also taken it to a couple of jobsites (I’m in construction), but only ones I know the speaker is pretty safe from getting damaged.

But I have received a lot of compliments on how good the speaker sounds. I have had multiple people ask the price, and hesitate about it, but then as I show them the light show, the app, the pullout handle, the wheels, and of course they’re hearing the sound quality, they say they’re probably going to buy one. Most of the time, when you bring a speaker to a jobsite, people just go with it and listen to whatever as background noise, but with this speaker, everyone always has to come check it out.

This is the most amazing and powerful speaker I have ever bought. Generally I have been a fan of the company from Boston but this is the first time i stepped out of my comfort zone. I will say I was lucky enough to get one of these. They have been in short supply and I kept checking on the BB website everyday until I hit the jackpot. The speaker plays right out of the box, no complicated connections. You can actually connect multiple devices thru bluetooth and keep cutting out one to maintain a rhythmic flow to dance music just lie the DJs do.

The speaker itself is very powerful with a nice deep base and when you push the Mega Bass button, the sound blows you away. This is the one Party speaker to have. Very conveniently rolls on wheels so it is not cumbersome to carry around. We recently used it on a party boat for karaoke and dancing and what a great time we had. The rechargeable battery lasts forever with a high level of loudness and colored lights on through out the duration. Kudos JBL!
