Klipsch The One Review

Klipsch is a technology audio manufacturer. Klipsch, BOSE, JBL, Harman Kardon are all representatives of American HiFi speakers. Klipsch has made many achievements in the field of cinema and the HiFi industry. The unique horn and classic American design have also become a highly recognizable characteristics. In this post, I will review the smallest Klipsch Bluetooth speaker, Klipsch The One speaker.

Klipsch the one Bluetooth speaker belongs to the Heritage series, which focuses on home entertainment. The solid wood retro style and stylish functions are also delightful. There are walnut and ebony in color matching.

Design

There are not many accessories inside the Klipsch The one’s package. Besides the speaker, there are a 50W power adapter, manual, and a 3.5mm audio cable for connecting with audio devices that do not support Bluetooth.

The Klipsch family style is still very vivid in Klipsch The One speaker. You can see the design style of some of your own high-end LaScala II speakers or the Klipsch Heresy IV. The cabinet is also very particular about the materials used, and solid wood plates cover the upper and lower sides, and a black woven mesh cover surrounds the surrounding.

Compared with the conventional metal mesh or sand mesh mask, the woven mesh mask better highlights its quaint temperament. Even if The One is just placed in the house without making a noise, it is still a literary and artistic decoration.

Although the overall design of The One follows the minimalist retro idea, the seemingly simple appearance is not simple. The knob is on the top, and the interfaces on the back are decorated with champagne gold brushed metal, which adds a sense of timeless refinement. The Klipsch logo in the upper right corner of the front of the speaker is also pretty embellished.

Under the retro shape, the current digital technology is hidden. A wireless Bluetooth, plus a 3.5mm AUX audio input, can cover the daily needs of most messengers. Klipsch the one wireless speaker supports Bluetooth 4.0 and apt-X encoding, which can meet the needs of high-quality wireless audio transmission. Coupled with its acoustic quality is also very good, lossless, and MP3 music can also be easily distinguished.

In terms of interaction, The One speaker is no different from most Bluetooth speakers. The mechanical switch lever and function knob also interpret the retro style. The two knobs are finely sculpted, and the damping is light and comfortable and has a sense of quality. Through the surrounding LED indicators, you can intuitively understand the current working status.

Klipsch The One wireless portable speaker has a size of 133 mm * 322mm * 155.6mm, a weight of about 3 kg and a moderate size is more convenient to move. The One has a built-in lithium battery. When fully charged, there are almost 8 hours of battery life.

The charging time takes about 2.5 hours. Bluetooth speakers that are larger than The One require an external power supply. The One has found a reasonable balance between volume and sound quality.

The small cabinet limits the small speaker, and it is difficult to make a more general sound performance. Especially to get a better low-frequency effect, some unique acoustic structure design is needed.

Technical manufacturers like Klipsch are naturally not generic and use 2.1 acoustic structures inside The One speaker. Two 2.25-inch full-frequency units and a 4.5-inch woofer are installed in the center of the front. Through the front grille of the speaker, you can vaguely see the distribution of the three speakers.

Of course, this is not over yet. There are two 4.5 passive units hidden at the left and right ends of The One so that even small-sized cabinets can burst out of the low frequency. Klipsch disclaims that The One has a peak power of 50W, a sound pressure level of 103dB, and a frequency response of 56Hz ~ 20khz, which is quite good.

The actual listening experience does have some characteristics of a large box of low frequency, and the low frequency is very flexible at low volume, which is beyond the reach of Bluetooth speakers such as Big Elvis using traditional acoustic structures.

Speaking of the overall acoustic quality, Klipsch The One speaker is a relatively high-end integrated Bluetooth speaker, but there is still a particular gap from the traditional HiFi split box.

But I also said before that in the face of today’s fragmented listening habits, high-quality Bluetooth speakers like The One seem to have an advantage. Going to the bathroom, cooking in the kitchen, or serving background music, The One can easily handle the task in the space of about 20 square meters.

Considering the full-band frequency performance, the high-frequency part is acceptable, the details are not outstanding, but still, the soft listening feel is very comfortable. In terms of mid-frequency, the texture of male and female voices is perfect, very contagious.

The low frequency sounds a lot like DSP processing, with a certain sense of volume and a certain dynamic reverb. The One is very suitable for pop, jazz, dance music.

Sound Performance

The lack of bass does not mean that The One has no bass. The low volume is still the best among the same products, and the sound is three-dimensional. Listen to “So What” by Miles Davis is fascinating. The music begins with a peaceful dialogue between the bass and the piano, then the drummer joins in, followed by Miles’s trumpet.

Whether it’s a trumpet, or a Coltrane or Adderley’s saxophone, the sound quality is outstanding, with thickness, brightness, and color. I listened to “Kind of Blue” at night and didn’t even want to turn on my stereo HiFi system. This kind of sound, listening in a low voice, is charming enough at night.

It has less bass than The Three. Does it sound like rock and pop? Listen to the Beetles’ famous song “Come Together” by Michael! The rhythm is fast and firm, with a little less richness and depth, in exchange for speed and solidity. But the sound produced by the electric guitar and synthesizer in the music is more vivid. After listening to it twice, I like The One better.

Conclusion

Of the many audio products at the moment, there are very few products that can catch my eye all at once, but the first sight of Klipsch The One speaker still makes me feel at first sight. The simple lines of the simple shape have a strong temptation, and the solid materials also make every detail have the classic brand of the last century.

In addition to being a nostalgic Bluetooth speaker, it is also an exquisite art of life. This One with a little affection is worth listening to slowly. Listen to the music and slow down the rhythm to feel the beauty that is easily overlooked.
